Economic Opportunities

Position:  Advisory Board Member

Ministry Description:  Serve on the leadership board to help make decisions for its development and future success.

Necessary Skills:  Oral Communication

Schedule:  Quarterly board meeting (minimum)

Position:  Administrative Assistance

Ministry Description:  Provide clerical office assistance, assist with newsletter, and help set up and track ministry database.

Necessary Skills:  Computer skills, general clerical knowledge, database knowledge

Schedule:  Up to 20 hours per week

Mediation and Restitution/Reconciliation Services (MARRS)

Position:  Mediator

Ministry Description:  Facilitate case hearings and mediations with juveniles and their victims

Necessary Skills:  20 hours of required training, annually

Schedule:  At least one session per month

Memphis Leadership Foundation

Position:  Assist with a mass mailing

Ministry Description:  Assist with mass mailings (newsletters, appeal letters, invitations) on an as-needed bases.

Schedule:  Varies (day and evening).  We will place your name on a call list and will call you one week before each mailing.

MultiNational Ministries

Position:  Homework helpers, Tutors, Readers

Ministry Description:  Assist refugees and other people in Memphis who have moved here from other countries by providing homework assistance or tutoring in the areas of English and Reading.

Necessary Skills:  Knowledge and ability to assist with elementary and middle level subjects

Schedule:  Monday  6:00 - 7:00 pm, Readers for elementary students and tutors for 6th and 7th graders

Wednesday 5:30 - 7:00 pm, One-on-one tutors for Middle School students

RedZone Ministries

Position:  “Club” helper

Ministry Description:  Hang out with teenagers, assist with snack preparation, transportation, and actitivies.

Necessary Skills:  None

Schedule:  Once a week for two hours

Read to Succeed

Position:  Reader

Ministry Description:  Read one-on-one for one hour with an elementary student.

Necessary Skills:  Ability to read on an elementary level
